Glympse

Glympse

Social apps that (automatically) broadcast your whereabouts seem to be all the rage these days. While I personally see no point in sharing my location all the time, unless I’m out hiking by myself in the middle of nowhere, climb a mountain or make a long road trip under bad weather conditions, Glympse is a fine choice for the purpose.

It shows your location in real-time, and you don’t need to sign up for a service to use it. You have the option to send a “Glympse”, as they like to call it, to anyone via SMS, email, Facebook, or Twitter. The app only shares your location as long as you want it to, and then it stops. Pretty neat.
