Artemia
In November 2010, Swedish tech and design company The Astonishing Tribe (TAT) dropped three retro-style live wallpapers in the Market. Of these three, Artemia is my personal favorite.
It shows glowing creatures that look a lot like jellyfish in an ocean: they swim faster when you poke them, and tapping on the water will produce bubbles. I like how the color of Artemia changes depending on the time of the day, and that the animations are quite soothing. Here are all of TAT’s live wallpapers, if you want to check out the rest.
TAT is actually responsible for some of the most iconic Android features, such as the slide-down notification bar, the analog clock and the pattern unlock screen. Since the company’s live wallpapers were released, TAT has been acquired by BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion (RIM), but hopefully these three bad boys will remain in the Android Market.
